Zapier lets you connect apps together and move data around using automated workflows called Zaps. Our Zapier integration has one Trigger and one Action to help you move data between Dovetail and other apps you use.
The first thing is to create a Zapier account if you don’t have one already. Get started with a free account at zapier.com, then click Make a Zap! in the top right corner to get started creating your first Zap.
Since we’ll be using Dovetail as the source for data, in the search input for Choose a Trigger App, type Dovetail, and choose it from the list.
Dovetail has one Trigger called New Insight which will be triggered when a new insight is published. Choose this Trigger, then click Save + Continue.
Search for Dovetail in the dropdown, click Connect an Account, and then click Approve Zapier in the popup window that appears.
Test the connection, then click Save + Continue to move on.
Choose a project for the New Insight trigger, or leave the project field blank for this Zap to trigger when a new insight is published in any project.
Once you’ve finished setting up the trigger, you can configure your Action App, which is where you want your data to go. With an Action App, you could save insights as Trello cards, or publish them in a Slack channel. Zapier has thousands of apps, so check out their directory and search for the apps you use.
