When you delete something in Dovetail (like a project, a note, or a tag), you’ll usually have the opportunity to undo the deletion by clicking the action in the toast notification in the bottom right corner of the screen:
If you don’t undo the deletion, whatever you deleted will end up in trash, where you can restore and recover it. Things that you delete can be restored for up to 30 days before they’re automatically and permanently deleted.
Deleted categories, projects, extensions, and templates end up in workspace trash after you delete them. To restore something from workspace trash:
Click the workspace name.
Click Settings in the sidebar.
Click Trash.
Click Restore.
Deleted groups, notes, tags, fields, and insights end up in project trash after you delete them. To restore something from project trash:
Open the project with the missing data.
Click Settings in the sidebar.
Click Trash.
Click Restore.
Just like projects, extensions also have a trash. When you delete groups, tags, or fields from within an extension, they’ll end up in that extension’s trash. To restore something from extension trash:
Open the extension with the missing data.
Click Settings in the sidebar.
Click Trash.
Click Restore.
